A context menu is a menu that appears when an interaction such as a rightclick or middleclick event is applied to a desktop component or widget.

Problems Edit

Problems with software incorporating this feature are:

  • The context menu may not be readily accessible to touchscreen users
  • The context menu may not be readily accessible to single button mouse users
  • From a recorded screencast, it may not be clear which context click event was used

Badly written applications Edit

Some badly written application software may make certain features only available via context menus, which may confuse to some users.
