A right click is an event that occurs on some systems that requires a mouse with a specialized additional button to be utilized in order to obtain the functionality provided by the right click facility in the software.

Problems Edit

The use of rightclick events may cause problems for some users:

  • An accessibility user may not have the level of [dexterity] required to produce differentiation between a standard mouse click and a right click
  • The user may be using a [touchscreen] or other such device that cannot differentiate between different fingers on the users hand.
  • The separation of functionality between the left and right hand side of the mouse means that the mouse design is no longer symmetrical and additional configuration switching will be required for different users.
